On June 16 and 17 2026, our CEO Daniel Jacob, Chief Manufacturing Officer HB Yang, and JST General Manager Victor Huang held a series of meetings with one of our key CCL suppliers. This included welcoming Houpin Peng, Sales President and Member of the Managing Board of Chongqing Dekai Industrial Co., Ltd. to our JST factory and extension facility for a focused review of material packages in our warehouse.
This was followed by a visit to Shengyi Technology (SYTECH)’s facility in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, China, where they met with the factory’s General Manager, Hui Yang, and Sales Director, Xiaogang Yang.
Both meetings were insightful and productive, and here are the key takeaways on the current market and supply chain:
- STARTEAM’s supply from CCL and AVL suppliers remains secured, supporting our JST extension
- Material availability remains tight, with lead times of up to 8 weeks
- Glass fibre is the primary constraint, with supply operating on a spot market and requiring rapid allocation decisions
- Strong demand from AI-related boards continues to drive price increases, with some glass fibre products seeing production efficiency up to 75% lower than standard prepregs
Looking ahead, visibility remains limited, with current conditions expected to persist at least through Q2 2027.
Forecasting remains very difficult due to ongoing uncertainty in AI investment levels, slow expansion of glass fibre capacity driven by environmental constraints, and limited availability of specialised manufacturing equipment.
Despite these challenges, supply remains secured, and we continue to see strong collaboration across the supply chain. We will continue working closely with our partners to navigate these constraints and maintain supply stability.
