Driving Decarbonisation Across Global Operations
STARTEAM has reached a major sustainability milestone by strategically procuring Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs), including Green Electricity Certificates (GECs) and Guarantees of Origin (GOs).
These certificates verify that our electricity consumption comes from renewable sources such as wind and solar power, across our global manufacturing and operational sites.
As a result, we achieved a 40.5% reduction in market-based Scope 2 emissions in 2025.
Expanding Renewable Energy Procurement
Between 2024 and 2025, STARTEAM increased its renewable energy procurement from 3,000 MWh to 16,060 MWh—more than 5 times higher than the previous year.
As a result, market-based Scope 2 emissions fell from 17,390 tCO₂e to 10,348 tCO₂e.
Market-based electricity intensity also improved from 67.59 kWh/m² to 37.35 kWh/m², a 44.7% improvement.
Leading Sites in Renewable Energy Adoption
- 2024: 3,000 MWh of GECs procured, marking the start of renewable energy use.
- 2025: 16,000 MWh of GECs procured, more than 400% increase, with a 44.7% reduction in market-based electricity intensity.
Our office in Shenzhen, China
- 2025: 60 MWh of GECs procured to expand clean energy use across operations.
- 2026: Transitioning to 100% renewable electricity through full use of Guarantees of Origin (GOs).
